This feature allows your identity to be verified by asking a set of personal questions only the applicant will know. This increases security and ensures the landlord is dealing with the proper person applying for the lease. If this section is failed, the applicant attempting to apply will be unable to proceed.
Tenant Screening For Landlords pulls credit reports directly from Transunion and is a “Soft Hit”.
This is because an invitation is sent to the applicant, the applicant then pays the application fee and gives permission directly to the credit bureau.
Because TSFL prompts you to initiate the request yourself, the credit check is considered a “soft hit” on your credit history—and doesn’t impact your credit in any way.
Your background check and credit report will be available for a one time use only to the property manager/landlord who requested it. Upon the landlord viewing the background report, Tenant Screening for Landlords (TSFL) purges that information from our system. TSFL does not provide your SSN to the landlord/property manager who requested it. That information is masked.
